Malvagia and Tribbiano:
two names rooted in history, expressed through contemporary wines.

At the close of the fourteenth century, Ser Lapo Mazzei put pen to paper and became the first to use the word Chianti to describe a wine, rather than simply the land from which it came. Among his writings also appear the names of the grapes grown on these hills, recorded as they were spoken at the time: Malvagia and Tribbiano.

From those ancient spellings comes the Private Collection: two grapes rooted in our heritage, two single-varietal interpretations, two distinct paths. One is a red wine that places Malvasia—long considered a supporting variety in Chianti Classico—centre stage. The other is our first interpretation of Trebbiano, the quintessential white grape of Chianti, vinified on its own between stainless steel and acacia wood.

What unites them is a gesture that begins long before the first sip: listening closely to two varieties that history has too often taken for granted, and entrusting them to the hands of those who cultivate them today. From this small winemaking project, dedicated to the native grape varieties of our land, comes the Private Collection, reserved exclusively for members of the Wine Club: just 1,250 bottles of each wine, created for those who understand that some stories are meant to be shared only with those who know how to recognise them.
